Fred, by his own admission, was a man born out of his time. His era should have been the Victorian Age and in this programme he takes us into his Victorian world. His heroes were the great Victorian engineers – Brunel, Robert Stephenson, Sir William Armstrong.

The full documentary made for their Queen Victoria Centenary Season; over 2 hours of previously unseen DVD extras and deleted scenes as Fred tells us what he liked about the Victorian Age, introduces us to his heroes and demonstrates some of their technological innovation and inventiveness.
